Description

The Hidden Forts HFD-04 Slim Straight in Indigo 13.75 oz. Japanese Selvedge Denim is a mid-high rise with a moderate seat and thigh, a straight leg, and a moderate hem, yielding an archival cut that works for a wide variety of body types. The signature 13.75 oz. Rigid Sanforized Raw denim is a special recipe produced by one of Japan's famed mills, narrow shuttle loomed on a vintage Toyoda at moderate tension in a 7 x 7 weave for a luxurious finish in an all-season jean that will conform to the body for a tailored, comfortable fit and remain durable through years of heavy wear. This deep rope-dyed indigo warp and unbleached natural weft denim will develop high-contrast fading patterns with repeated wear and washes. Industry veteran Gordon Heffner drew on decades of expertise in Japanese selvedge denim to create the perfected modern jean. Hidden Forts denim emphasizes form, function, and wearability, crafted by an esteemed workshop in Japan, with considered proportions, details, and construction methods that balance practicality with character. With each piece drawing from a cult fashion era, the HFD-04 Slim Straight is inspired by late 1990s anti-fashion minimalism, featuring an effortless, slim silhouette with a contoured rise for comfort and a clean, structured drape from the thigh through the straight leg to a moderate leg opening. Finished with premium components and production standards, these jeans come with a laurel wreath zinc button fly, a patch coin pocket with interior selvedge line, cotton twill pocket bags, raw copper riveting, hidden back rivets, a natural heavy-duty Jacron paper patch, cotton stitching thread designed to fade naturally, and a chainstitched waist, seat, inseam, and hem. For the new cuts of staple specialty denim, Hidden Forts represents utility-led construction informed by observations from everyday life, finding its way into high-design, practical garments.

Collection: Hidden Forts

Created by industry veteran Gordon Heffner to pursue the ideal modern five-pocket jean, Hidden Forts is grounded in decades of experience with Japanese selvedge denim and a design philosophy that prioritizes observation over convention. Drawing inspiration from the cult fashion movements of the late 1980s through the 2010s, the brand reinterprets familiar references through considered proportions, restrained detailing, and a balance of form, function, and everyday wearability. This approach is rooted in what Hidden Forts calls Rugged Nostalgia –...
